Los Santos has a closing date. Sony’s own text, as quoted by PlayStation LifeStyle and KeenGamer on October 13, says Grand Theft Auto V is playable in the Extra and Premium catalog “only until November 17.” That is two days before GTA 6 arrives on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and thirteen years after the game first reached shelves. Call it a farewell lap, with one question: which mission goes first?
Same labels as always. Official is what Sony or Rockstar wrote, reported is what outlets say, and rumor is what somebody heard from somebody. The short version: the date is Sony’s own wording, though we have only seen it quoted by outlets, almost everything else is reporting, and nothing here predicts how GTA 6 will play.
The Notice: GTA V Leaves PS Plus Extra and Premium on November 17
Official, per the same Sony text quoted on October 13: GTA V can be played in the catalog by Extra and Premium members, but only until November 17. KeenGamer describes two choices on it: play GTA V or pre-order GTA VI. Outlets describe it differently: a PS5 notification per PlayStation LifeStyle and KeenGamer, a promo per GTA Boom. The exact button wording is not confirmed.
Only the subscription access ends. GTA Boom, also on October 13, says people who own the game can keep playing it and that it stays on sale, and Infobae, on October 21, adds that GTA V remains available to buy in digital and physical copies. Nothing a player bought goes away. A subscriber who never bought it simply has a countdown, and a countdown makes a decent excuse to finally start.
Official Date, Reported Everything Else
Official: the November 17 date, from the same Sony text quoted above, and nothing more. We found no PlayStation Blog post up to October 25. Reported: Sony’s “Last Chance to Play” section, per Infobae (October 21) and Vandal (October 20), includes GTA V, and Red Dead Redemption 2 leaves the same day. We could not open that section ourselves, so the other titles and the regional lists are secondhand.
Regions are the loose end. Reported: Infobae counts seven titles for Spain and Latin America and eleven for North America and Australia, with GTA V on both. We have seen no country-by-country list, so check your own PS Store. Rumor: nothing worth repeating. No return date has been announced, and we found no source that gives one.

Our take: start with the mission you would miss most, not the one everybody calls the best.
Thirteen Years of Los Santos Deserve a Good Send-Off
GTA V reached shelves in September 2013. Separately, KeenGamer (October 13) reports that it has been in and out of the PS Plus catalog before, so this is not its first exit. It is just the first one with a sequel’s date parked next to it, which gives the goodbye some flair. A run that long earns a victory tour.
Which mission replays first? Our rule of thumb: let the evening decide. Short on time, pick one you remember finishing quickly; with a free night, one you remember getting stuck on. For activities, go silly: the tennis match nobody asked for, yoga on a hill, a police chase in the wrong car. To compare with the sequel, Will Your GTA V Getaway Habits Survive GTA 6? sorts what is reported from what is our guess.

Who Should Go Back to Los Santos Before the 17th
If you never played it, this is the easiest invitation you will get: while it stays in the catalog (through the 17th) it costs nothing extra for Extra and Premium members. If you did, a replay is a pleasant warm-up before November 19, though we will not pretend it prepares you for anything, because Rockstar has not said how the two games compare. Xbox players, this one is a PlayStation perk.
Whatever the format, Sony’s message is a friendly, well-timed reminder: one door to the old city, one to the new, and both are open for now. If time is short, our suggestion is one mission a night until the 17th, with no rush to finish anything. Meanwhile, GTA 6’s Last Month of Waiting: How We’re Getting Through It has company for the countdown.
Be honest: when you open GTA V this month, which mission do you replay first, or do you skip them all and just drive until the sun goes down?
