Walking out of a building in Leonida, phone in pocket, now comes with one real decision: what goes in your ears. Rockstar Games has just made that a proper choice. The official GTA 6 music page now previews six radio stations, and the radio no longer lives only inside the car.
Quick deal. We label what is official (what Rockstar wrote), what is reported (what outlets say) and what is rumor, meaning what someone heard from someone. The sources get named, in good humor, so you can argue about stations without repeating guesswork as news.
Six Stations Are Official, and Cocoteo Leads the Party
Officially, Rockstar’s Newswire post of October 8, 2026 and its GTA 6 music page preview six stations: Cocoteo, modern Latin from El Martillo and La Gata; Back Country Radio, renegade country from MW and Delta Dawne; AfroBank FM, with amapiano and African classics; The Chamber 106.6, metal; Flash FM, pop; and Dirty South Classics, regional rap and hip-hop classics.
Cocoteo even comes with a slogan, “El party que nunca se apaga,” which is exactly the energy a Latin group chat wants. Flash FM is the veteran: Rockstar calls it a Vice City institution, so it is a returning name, and a Vice City that keeps leaking into the real world feels like the right place for it. Rockstar says the lineup runs from Classic Rock to Talk Radio.
The Radio Now Follows You on Foot
Officially, Rockstar says radio and podcasts can be heard in vehicles and on foot, through headphones and earbuds connected to smartphones. The same Newswire post says that, for the first time ever, the game has a series of on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia. It also promises the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet. No podcast has been named.
That changes what a long walk means. A stroll to a mission can now have a soundtrack, a talk show or a very dramatic playlist, and the only price is having to choose one. Nobody argues about which car handles best the way they argue over who controls the earbuds. Whoever holds the phone holds the playlist.

The car was never the only place that needed a soundtrack.
The Famous Names Are Reported, Not Official
Rockstar names personas, not celebrities, but outlets matched them with real artists. The Sixth Axis, on October 8, citing a press release and Rolling Stone, paired Cocoteo with Bad Bunny and RaiNao, Back Country Radio with Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey, AfroBank FM with Burna Boy and Palms Trax, The Chamber 106.6 with Kerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer, Flash FM with Robyn and Alex Consani, and Dirty South Classics with Trick Daddy and Trina.
Treat that as reported until Rockstar says it in its own words. GTA Boom, also on October 8 and reading the Newswire post, noted that Rockstar had not specified who is behind the mics, even if the resemblances look intentional. DJ Mag’s coverage of the reveal leads with the same real names. Rumor corner: nothing worth repeating, and anyone selling a tracklist per station is guessing.

The First Station You Tap Says a Lot About You
The first station you open works like a small personality test, and the lineup gives every mood a button. Cocoteo is for the party, Back Country Radio for the airboat, The Chamber 106.6 for a bad day, AfroBank FM for the groove, Flash FM for nostalgia, and Dirty South Classics for southern hospitality. Nobody is judging. Everybody is judging a little.
You have until November 19, when GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, to settle it. Meanwhile, see how fans are getting through the last month of waiting and tell us in the comments which station wins your vote. Remember that Rockstar has shown six, and the full lineup is bigger. Choose wisely, or at least loudly.
Be honest: do you open Cocoteo first, or do you pretend you will start with something else?
