Two prices, one release date and a few extras that only one box has. That is the whole shape of buying GTA 6: a Standard Edition, an Ultimate Edition and the $20 between them. The hard part is not the price. It is deciding whether the extras are worth it before November 19, when the pre-order bonus ends, while some details still come from outlets, not from Rockstar.

Official: launch is November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and in the US Standard is listed at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. Reported: the item list, which we read through GAMES.GG, and the Brazilian prices, from search results of Brazilian outlets. Rockstar’s page loads by JavaScript, so we read only part of it. Prices vary by store and region.

What Each Edition Costs

Official, as we covered in our piece on the box with no disc: Standard is $79.99 and Ultimate $99.99 in the US, $20 apart. Reported by Brazilian outlets such as Omelete and Rolling Stone Brasil: R$449.90 for Standard and R$549.90 for Ultimate, the same on PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store, with R$100 between them. These numbers can change, so check the store before buying.

No PC edition has been announced, so there is no PC price. Sony’s GTA+ terms mention an Ultimate Edition upgrade, so a way to upgrade appears to exist, though we found no official price or date for it. Our inference: Standard is the full game, and the extra money buys content added on top, not a different experience.

What the Ultimate Edition Adds

Reported by GAMES.GG, while Rockstar’s page shows the Ultimate Edition sections: five vehicles and a Ganada Retro Build modkit, including the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, the Dinka Enduro, the Shitzu Squalo and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy; Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers and Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 variants; the Vice City Style and Goodtime Gear packs; and five shops, such as Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon and One-Eyed Willie’s.

Also on that list: a mission tied to an illegal goods store (PTT Youngin$) and a classic car collection commission. All of it is extra content inside the game, listed as Ultimate-only by GAMES.GG. Our inference: whether it is worth $20 is a question of taste, not of need, because everything on that list reads as an extra, not as part of the main story.

The Pre-Order Bonus and the Clock

Both editions get the Vintage Vice City Pack when bought on or before November 19: per GAMES.GG, outfits for the two protagonists, a ’55 Vapid Stanier and a weapon pattern. Digital buyers on PlayStation also get one month of GTA+, per Sony’s terms, as we explained in our GTA+ piece. Physical boxes hold a download code, not a disc. Reported by GTABase: the Ultimate is digital only, and boxed owners upgrade after redeeming their code.

Our inference: the date that matters is November 19, and not because the price rises, since we found no announced price change. Only the bonuses expire: the pack and, on PlayStation digital, the GTA+ month. If you will buy anyway, buying before the deadline costs nothing extra. If you wait for reviews, which are reported but unconfirmed for November 18, you would have one day left to decide.

How to Choose Without Regret

If you finish a game once and move on, Standard is, in our reading, the full story at the lower price. If you like cars, shops and cosmetics, the extra $20 is easy to justify. Standard is not a dead end, since an upgrade appears to exist, but we found no price for it, so do not assume it costs just the $20 gap.

The math is short: $79.99 or $99.99, with $20 between them and a pre-order bonus that ends on the 19th. What you will remember is launch night, and neither box changes that. Pick the one that fits the way you will actually play, place the order before the deadline and save your attention for the drive.

Standard for the story, or Ultimate for the garage?
