Picture the last full day before launch: the pre-load finished, the controller charged, and a notification saying the first GTA 6 reviews are live. According to a leak, that day could be November 18, one day before the November 19 release. Rockstar has not confirmed it, so this is a story about a rumored date and a very human question: do you read, or do you wait?
Official: launch is November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and pre-loading opens November 10, as in our pre-load piece. Reported, not official: the review date and the review codes. Rumor: the hour. We checked what we could through November 4 and found no statement from Rockstar or Take-Two. Everything below carries its label.
Who Says November 18
Reported: leaker NateTheHate said reviews go live November 18, and that review copies were due to go out around the end of October. Insider Gaming, in an October 26 report, says it can independently verify the date and describes the codes as “allegedly” sent. Beebom repeated the date a day later. We use the same word, “allegedly,” for the codes.
Our reading of the sourcing: one leaker, one outlet that says it checked his date, and others repeating both. Notebookcheck notes that an earlier Insider Gaming story on this was taken down. That is not nothing, but it is not a second independent origin either. No outlet we read names which reviewers received a copy. Until Rockstar posts a date, treat November 18 as a strong rumor, not an entry on the calendar.
The Hour Is Another Rumor
Rumor: a forum poster called BlackBate, cited by Egamers, claimed scores could appear around 6 to 7 a.m. ET on November 18. Some sites or YouTube channels might wait until 12:01 a.m. ET on November 19, the start of launch day. Egamers itself calls this an unverified leak, and it names no outlets, so we cannot say who would publish when.
There is also an older, different claim. Rumor (older): per Notebookcheck’s October 14 report, Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe said in May that Rockstar would invite media to an undisclosed location to play. Notebookcheck presents it as an earlier allegation. Our inference: if codes did go out, that claim looks outdated. We cannot confirm either one.
Reviews (reported): November 18. Review codes (reported): end of October. Pre-load (official): November 10. Launch (official): November 19.

What a Day-Before Review Would Change
Our inference: if reviews land on November 18, anyone who pre-loaded will likely have the files by then, so the game would sit on the console, locked, while strangers describe it. Reported by Notebookcheck, citing NateTheHate: reviewers would have three weeks or more with the game. That is a long time to form an opinion, and a very short time to read it.
A practical note, ours and not Rockstar’s: decide your rule before the notification arrives. Some fans will want the verdict, some only the spoiler-free parts, some nothing at all. A score from someone else cannot tell you whether the game suits you, and it cannot replace your first hour. If you already pre-ordered, a review is company, not a decision.
The Quietest Day of the Wait
Strange as it sounds, November 18 may be the calmest day of the whole countdown. The trailers are old news, the map has been argued over, the download is done, and the only unknown left is a sentence written by somebody else. We have waited through two delays for a feeling, not a score, and a score is a poor way to carry it.
If the leak is right, that day offers a choice: scroll the verdicts, or leave the phone face down and keep the first minutes to yourself. Either way, nothing in any report moves November 19. Reviews can describe Vice City from the outside, but the first drive is still yours, one day later, with the radio already on.
Would you read the first GTA 6 review the moment it goes live, or keep the game untouched until you play it yourself?
