The sound of GTA VI has turned into a small whodunit. On one side, Rockstar Games officially named Justice as composer of the score for a game due November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On the other, a leaker says Daft Punk was approached first, and some headlines add that they said no. Only one of those stories has a paper trail.
Here is how we sort it: official means Rockstar said it on its own channels, reported means an outlet or a tracklist says it, and rumor means one unconfirmed claim. Sources come by name and date, and anything we could not confirm stays out.
Justice Is Officially the Composer of GTA VI’s Score
Rockstar’s Newswire of October 15 names the French duo Justice as composers of GTA VI’s original dynamic score, announced alongside the launch trailer. The trailer debuts “Flower in a Hurricane,” credited to Justice with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, according to Rockstar’s post on X the same day. That is the confirmed headline.
What we cannot tell you is how the score behaves while you play. WorthPlaying (October 15) says Rockstar will share more about a separate score album later, and we found no interview in which Justice discusses the game’s music. So any claim about what the score “means,” or how it reacts to your chases, is guesswork, and we are skipping it.
Justice Is One Name on a 34-Track Album
Justice scoring the game is not the same as Justice making every song. Rockstar’s Newswire of September 17 announced GTA VI: The Album, made with Atlantic Records and launching November 19; GTABase lists November 20, so we follow Rockstar. GTABase’s undated tracklist page counts 34 tracks and puts Yung Lean, Travis Scott and the Justice single side by side.
Radio is its own cast. Rockstar’s Newswire of October 8 covers the in-game stations, and we walked through them one by one in our rundown of the radio stations, with the pop station’s return in our Flash FM piece. We found nothing saying Justice touches those playlists, so this soundtrack clearly has many hands, not one pair.
Justice is the composer. It is not the whole jukebox.

Daft Punk’s Only Confirmed Link Is a Producer Credit
On GTABase’s tracklist, Travis Scott’s “RHYNO” carries the credit “prod. by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo,” one half of Daft Punk. GTA Intel (October 20) is careful about it: a producer credit on one song, not a Daft Punk reunion, and the duo split in 2021. No helmets, no comeback tour, just a name in the fine print.
Beyond that credit, we found no official statement tying Daft Punk’s own music to the game, and Rockstar has said nothing more. So the confirmed Daft Punk story is small but real: one producer, one track, one entry out of 34. Anything bigger needs a source with a name attached, and so far nobody has offered one.
A producer credit is a fact. A comeback is a rumor.

The Daft Punk Pitch Is a Rumor From One Account
On October 19, the leak account @hasitleaked posted on X that Daft Punk’s management was pitched a “final comeback” with “essentially an unlimited budget,” and that Justice were Rockstar’s second choice, as Dexerto (October 20) tells it. GTA Intel (October 20) notes the post came with no documents or named sources. Rockstar, Daft Punk’s representatives and Justice have not commented.
As for “said no,” the sources do not agree. Dexerto’s headline says Daft Punk reportedly turned down the deal, while GTA BOOM (October 20) calls it a pitch rumor and mentions no refusal. As relayed, the post claims only that a pitch happened. Until someone with a name speaks, we treat all of it as rumor, and none of it changes what Justice was officially named to do.
Does it matter to you who Rockstar may have called first, or only what you hear when the game starts on November 19?
