Grand Theft Auto: Vice City reached shelves in late October 2002, which makes its pop station 24 years older and, this month, newly back in the conversation. Rockstar Games’ official GTA 6 music page lists Flash FM among the stations of the new game, due November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so the reunion at least has a date.
Here is the plan. Official means Rockstar’s own words, reported means what outlets say, and opinion is ours, labeled as such. Sources come by name and date, and we left out anything we could not confirm, including a tidy tracklist of the old station.
Rockstar Calls Flash FM a Vice City Institution
Officially, Rockstar’s GTA 6 music page presents Flash FM as the pop station of the preview, describing it as a “Vice City institution.” It is one of six stations shown there, and a returning name rather than a debut. Destructoid, on October 8, 2026, described it as a returning station from the original Vice City in its roundup of the reveal.
The hosts appear on Rockstar’s page only as Robyn and Alex. The surname is reported: Dexerto, on October 8, and GTABase name Alex Consani, so treat that part as press, not Rockstar. The other five stations get their own tour in our rundown of the six GTA 6 radio stations, which leaves this article free to stay with the pink one.
In 2002, Flash FM Was the Pop Dial of Vice City
Vice City is set in 1986, according to Wikipedia, and Flash FM was its pop station, hosted by DJ Toni, according to Grand Theft Wiki. That wiki says the playlist drew on songs from 1979 to 1986 and includes Hall & Oates’ “Out of Touch” and Wang Chung’s “Dance Hall Days.” That is as much of the old tracklist as we confirmed, so we will not pretend to recite the rest.
As for the birthday, sources disagree. Grand Theft Wiki dates the North American PlayStation 2 release to October 27, 2002, while Wikipedia says October 29, and both put Europe on November 8. That is why we write “late October 2002” and leave the candles undated. Either way, the original turns 24 this month, give or take two days.
A game can change maps, engines and consoles, but the pop station still gets the welcome-back party.
The Tracks Reported So Far Are Not From 1986
Reportedly, Destructoid’s October 8 roundup lists three songs for Flash FM: Charli xcx’s “Good Ones,” MGMT’s “Electric Feel” and Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress’s “Midnight Sun.” GTABase, in an undated entry, lists the same three and says more will be confirmed. Destructoid says the lists appear on GTA 6’s official site, but we could not verify the tracks there ourselves, so they stay reported.
None of that says the new game plays songs from the original. What the sources describe is a returning station name and a pop identity, with new voices on the mic. If anyone sells you an “old Flash FM playlist” for GTA 6, that is a guess. We found no further Flash FM songs named, and we will update if Rockstar adds any.

Why Nostalgia Hits Hardest on the Radio
Opinion time. A radio station is one of the cheapest time machines a game can build: no new map, no new mission, just a name and a voice, and players of a certain age sit up. Flash FM belongs to the game that put 1986 on a console in 2002, and 24 years later it returns as a modern pop station. That reads as a smart wink, not a time warp.
We also think the restraint is the charming part: new songs under an old name, like a favorite diner that keeps the sign and changes the menu. The launch is a few weeks away, and how fans are getting through the last month of waiting suggests we are all fidgeting. Until November 19, the dial is a decent place to fidget.
If Flash FM got one song from 1986 and one from 2026, which two would you pick?
